Have you ever seen an item that you would like to weave, and you need to figure out what the weave structure is???? That's what is going on here!
Patty had a picture that we all looked at, and after much discussion, and looking closely at the pictures, we decided that it was huck!!!!
Our greatest asset is the community of weavers and our wonderful library!
I wanted to give you a close up of Liz's scarf in progress. The photo does not do it justice!!! The gold warp has a lovely sheen.
Betsy was busy counting out threads for her bouts before she starts to wind them on the loom. This really is a colorful warp!
Tina has started sleying the reed for the blanket/throw. This is another one of those projects that we are waiting to see take shape!
Since we didn't know what Bonnie had in mind for this warp, Tina did some problem solving (and lots of counting!) It was wide enough to make a baby blanket or throw, so, that's what it will be!!!
Uh-oh! Too many heddles on the left side! That will interfere with the warp as it advances, so Tina is carefully taking them off the bar. Notice that she is using a needle to thread them--less chance they will end up in a tangle!
It was good to see Susan today. She brought back her table loom for the next new student to use next week. Today she got the chance to take a look around the studio and see all the new projects.
This means that Diane and Victoria won't be the newbies any longer!
Charlotte was gifted with a bunch of thrums from Carol's stash. Charlotte does amazing weaving with all our leftovers, and this will be like Christmas looking at all the beautiful threads!
Pat's on mission to use up fabric strips in her rugs. This rug is using three different fabrics as weft.
Look who dropped by to visit!!!!
He found another cone of thread, and just thought he'd drop it by. He was at the Highland Games this weekend, and said he had a great time.
Lunch outside.....isn't it lovely!!!
Just spending time with our friends!
****Just a little tease.....
I missed getting a picture of Linda at her loom, but this is the project we worked on after we left the Center. Her husband has the BEST workshop!!!!
Stay tuned for more information.
Happy Weaving!
LouAnn
