Catching Up

Things have been really busy around here the last few weeks.

As you know, our Sharon suffered an aneuirish at the beginning of the month.  Sadly, she has not been able to bounce back.  She's going into Comfort Care as of today.

  She will be truly missed.

This message is for Joanie.  I spoke with Betsy and she told me she got this structure from a friend.  It is a 12-harness.  That's the tie up on the right side.

The treadling is kinda her own design.

Things in the studio are really busy.  Lina, Liz, Betsy and Peggy worked with some of the other weavers to make their pattern for the bowl cozy.

Carol made the rounds today to check in with the weavers.

Our newest weavers are making progress with their first warps!

Marilyn is helping Phyllis with a snafu.  It just takes time!

Karin is trying to fix a boo-boo on this warp!

It was so good to see Liz again!

Shannon is working on a pattern while Candace is working on her warp.

Patty is making a label for another wound warp.

Pearl and Marilyn are in a deep discussion!

  Shirley's towels are so colorful!

Carol is always ready to help out!

She and Shari were very concentrated!

Think kindness...................

Bits & Pieces

Hey, Sharon!

Wake up!!!!

You might have noticed Sharon on the blog - usually checking in books for the library or bringing cookies and treats for the weavers.

Eleven days ago, she had a cerebal aneurism and is not making progress.

If you could, please send healing hugs out to Sharon and tell her to WAKE UP!!!

  We miss her.

Now for the GOOD NEWS!

We have added three new weavers to our merry band

This is Vicky, and she's waiting for a loom to open up for her.

This is Judith.  She has wound her warp and she's ready to get it threaded and sleyed.

I asked Mark what brought him to weaving, and he said he just wanted to weave.

Know the feeling???

Peggy found herself a quiet little hidey hole to open her loom.  It can get tricky!

Linda is starting a new warp.  Looks like we're 1/3 of the way through threading.

Shannon just keeps on weaving on her scarf warp.  By the way, the 5-yard piece of fabric and the bowl cozy on last week's blog were woven by Shannon.

That's Susan behind Shannon.  She's working on her towels.

Betsy is making headway on her third blanket.  There seems to be more warp remaining than she thought there would be.  Wait & see!

Liz choose colors that she is using in her new house.  I think this will work on this black warp.

Shari, Lou Ann and Marilyn spent loads of time at their looms!  So many different projects.

I saw the loom wiggle, and who did I see?  It was Pearl tying up her treadles!!!!

  Barbara is weaving in style!!!!

Oh, yes.  Shirley's other job (besides keeping the snacks supplied) is keeping our time sheets.  It helps the AACC when they're writing grants.

This is the rug that Patty is weaving--Laura fell in love with it, and she plans on using it in her guest bedroom.  Click on the picture so you can see the close-up.

Please send hugs to Sharon.........

OH! Our Village At Work!

Not only does Pat weave great rugs and write great articles, but she can take pictures, too!

  Thank you, Pat!

Patty and Bonnie volunteered pictures, too.

Carol's lunch time meeting had a lot of information to share.  We are getting more new students!

Carol had two students putting on their first warp and two students winding their first warps!

That must have been a little crazy for Carol!

Patty used some of her dyed yarn to weave a scarf this week.  She keeps busy!

Big news!  The Hollywood rug that Patty is weaving right now has already SOLD!!!!

One of our weavers has finished a lenght of fabric.  Who?  What is it for?

News next week.

Looks like someone has woven their bowl cozy for the TW Challenge!

Love that pattern!

Okay....is Susan having a nap or is she tying up her loom????

Enjoy these pre-spring days!  (A few winter ones are hiding around the corner!)
