Off Again, On Again!
What a day in the Studio today was! There were projects coming off and going on the looms at a fast pace! Let's show you the projects coming off of the looms first. Let's start with Jenny's scarf project. Jenny has been working on this vibrant pink warp for a few months, and today was the day it was finished. She cut it off of the loom and went to the countertop and immediately cut the scarves apart and Pearl did a quick fashion show for us!
Rhonda, Betsy and Liz cut their projects off of the looms today! Rhonda was making towels in M's and O's, Betsy was weaving fabric for bowl cozies and Liz was making patterned Towels in different colors.
We have a good group of new students right now. You have met Elizabeth before, but we are adding Kathryn, and one other who I didn't talk to about posting photos yet. Nikki is in the photo behind Katryn but she is already a weaver and is joining in the fun!
About this time I heard Patty say, does anybody know if there is something wrong with the toilet? Then Pearl said "It looks like somebody was smoking on the toilet!" I was just getting ready to ask if I should ask upstairs when I went to take a look.
There was some discussion still going on when the culprit fessed up! Leave it to Marilyn to keep things light!
Now for the projects that are going onto the looms. Once again I will start with Jenny because she went straight for the hand dyed warps and picked one and got it on the loom this afternoon! We had a few issues since even though there was a cross when the warp was wound, it had not been tied well and we had to pick a new cross. We knew it would be a little difficult to wind on but it is all behind us now and Jenny will thread next week.
Mark is putting a warp on his loom, this time it will be fabric for soup cozies. Liz #2 is getting what I think is a towel warp on her loom. Last time I looked Kris was threading through the reed on her napkin warp.
Alice is weaving on an inkle loom again today. The thread is so small I had to enlarge the picture to show the pattern, these will be used for lanyards. JP is coming close to the end of his first scarf in an 8 harness pinwheel pattern.
Now for Show and Tell! Patty brought in a shawl she finished this week, there are several different fibers used in the shawl making for fabulous color and texture. Mark brought in a rug he made for he and Judith's new house!
That is it for this week, we will see you next time, until then this is Tina, for all!
