Good Morning AACC!

It has taken longer than a week, that is true, but our dear Alan, and his wife Sharon (with the help of her 2 sons when needed) have extreme overhauled the AACC annex!  It was time therefore for the painting to begin!  I have been watching the weather reports for the last month, trying to get a warm enough, dry enough day to do it, and today was the day.  I told them all on Tuesday that I would be there painting and whoever could come that would be great, and that we would get done what we could get done!

This is what the annex looked like on Tuesday, the gray part is the old annex and the unfinished siding is the new Weavers addition.  They more than doubled our storage space!

This morning, at around 10am we started arriving, we had to wait just a little while for the temps to rise to 50 F .  (Lou Ann, Lanny and I did a little organizing inside while we were waiting.) By the time the temp was just right, Carol, Ann and Alan were there.
The back side had been mostly primed.( Thanks Alan!)

Our goal was to get as much done as we could.  I really wanted to get it all at least primed!

We divided into teams of  rollers and brushers!

Alan had the coolest tool to stir the paint!  Lanny and I had to take turns, just for fun!

Carol, is on what we call the 4th side.
Lou Ann is on the first side.

Ann with Lanny's assist, on the 4th side.

Ann and I on the first side.
Lanny on the back!

I have to tell you that I had the best team possible!  We all just kept going until about 12:30pm when we stopped to go to lunch nearby.  We all needed a little rest and some food and drink!

Here is what it looked like when we quit for lunch. (Or close to it anyway, I think Alan had finished putting the siding up on the first picture!)

We had gotten 3 sides completely primed and the 4th side needed to be rolled.  We were running out of primer however (the siding soaks it up like a shop vac!), and Alan was going to get us another 5 gallon tub of it when he went to the store.

We had a great lunch and headed back to see what we could finish.  The temps were holding for us, so we finished the primer we had on hand.  While we were waiting for Alan to get back, I ventured to suggest that we open the paint and start working with that on the sides that we knew were ready.  I am not at all sure that the others thought it a good idea, but since I was the "crew chief", that is what we did!

Well, to all of our surprise, we were able to get 3 sides primed and painted, and the 4th side is primed and waiting for it's coat of paint.  I will be watching the weather tonight to see when we can get that done.  Here is a few pictures of how it looks now.

Front and 1st side.
First side again, with the Weavers entrance, below.

4th and final side with the primer applied.

We were all gone by  4:30pm, and I expect there to be many hot baths and ibuprofen tablets taken this evening.  I know that I am going to partake for sure.

It was a delightfully fun day and we all felt a huge sense of accomplishment in what we had managed.  Now if the weather will cooperate just one more day....

Welcome home Tuesday Weavers Stash, welcome home!

Until next time, Happy Weaving, Tina
