Run for the Roses

It's Derby Day! And along with millions of other viewers across the country, I'll be watching those 3 year olds take off around the oval. I'll be watching for #13, Jackson Bend, to make a good showing since he has an East Tennessee connection. I really don't know why I watch the Derby every year....I've only been to one horse race in my life, and it was fun, but not anything I feel inclined to do again. I can remember watching the Derby when I was young (we're talking black & white TV) and jumping up and down cheering when the horses ran down the final stretch. This year, I'll be praying that none of the horses slide in the mud since they are forecasting LOTS of rain.
Sometimes I feel like I'm on an oval track....running and running and running. I'm going as fast as I can, but it's never ending! Places to go, people to see, things to do....and I just keep on going on my very own oval track. I finished up my big order this morning, and was at the post office early, then treated myself to a trip to the Farmers' Market. The bakers were out of those fabulous cinnamon rolls, but I treated myself to an iced lemon cookie. Then home again to tackle my to-do list for today.

I had cut off my warp of Log Cabin placemats at the Center a while back, and I've got them washed and ready to hem. Yep.....they're hanging there waiting for me! So, that's #1 on my list of things to do today.
And, when I finish that, I've got to get the string trimmer out and cut down the tall grass in the Green Belt so I can get to my blackberries in July! All the rain has made that meadow grass grow like crazy! Cutting down the grass allows the wildflowers to shine , too! Then, I've got some flowers ready to transplant in the side garden.....and on the list goes.
If I'm lucky, I'll be braiding while the Derby is on. I WANT to get another tote finished. I want to get that warp off that loom so I can start on my afghan project.
So, I've got my running shoes on, and I'll get back on "track" and keep on keepin' on!!!!

Happy Weaving!

This time of the year so much to do, not enough time to get it done. A list is a good thing to do. Keep on keepin on.
