Putting Together a New Ashford Loom etc
Karin and I worked on getting her Ashford table loom together today. We had some help along the way but we didn't quite get it finished! We still have to put the beater assembly together, but by 3pm we were beat! We will finish up next week and post more photos! (Oh, and we basically took over the kitchen area!)
I was very much occupied with the above project and some really nice weavers took my phone and got a few pictures of Jenny taking her project off of the loom.
While all that was happening there was a Bowl Cozie sewing bonanza going on, of which I got absolutely no pictures! (Sorry gals!) Carol said that she and Laura sewed together 21 bowl cozies!!! These cozies will be going to the Pilot Craft Show in Oak Ridge, TN the weekend of the 22nd, which is why they were sewing like mad! There is another 6 yard Christmas Cozies warp on the wolf pup and yet another 6 yard warp that can go an another loom next week to have for the shop upstairs. Time to start thinking about Spring time cozies soon!
Now, it is time for Show and Tell! Peggy came in today and showed us some wonderful 8 harness towels she had made and also several scarves and a shawl.
Shannon sewed a bag for her to wear on vacation with a Halloween theme. She also made the cutest Heart shaped pillow out of the fabric that she had woven and had been so disappointed that the colors ran in the wash a few months back! She had some fabric in her stash that was a perfect match to back the heart. That goes to show you that you never know what mistake will in reality just a change of direction!
Mark and Judith helped out at the Museum a couple of weeks ago and it was a really chilly day! Judith took a towel that was for display and wrapped it around her neck to keep the cold out. (She got so many compliments!) So Mark decided to use those same colors and make Judith an actual scarf!
That is it for this week! Until next time this is Tina, for all!
