Another Tuesday, Another Show Coming up

It was another busy day in the Studio this week! Karin and I were putting the finishing touches on her new loom, and Mark and Judith were working on their respective projects, and Pat wasn't with us this week, so I took a picture of her latest rug on the Barn Frame Loom.

Liz came to the end of her towel warp and Susan #3 is winding more weft for her "Ellen's Pattern" placemats.

Carol (our fearless leader!) is modeling one of the many ways she has found to work with the textured and many colored fabric we have been weaving in the studio recently. Carol and Patty have been winding warps holding 6 threads of yarn all of different weights and textures. Then we have the yarns that Carol used to wind the warp for Joycelyn and the warp on the loom ready to thread.

Next I have Shirley and her warp and after that Patty is at the loom with a warp that she has planned and wound. In each of the warps that have been on the looms over the last few months a weft has been chosen that almost dissapears and lets the colors of the warp do all the talking.

Pearl is taking the opposite path, she has a single color warp and is using all sorts of things in the weft. There really is no end to the possibilites of you can do at the loom is there?

Oh, what show you ask? In Oak Ridge, TN this weekend, there is a show that has be going on for years. We are getting a small space this year in order to see if this is something we could be able to do going forward. Liz #2 is making sure that the inventory has been accounted for and she and Marie and Linda are heading up the booth planning and set up. Several of us are manning the booth in turn, so we shall see how it goes.

Now for Show and Tell! Mark got a Countermarche loom and this is the first project that he has done. It is wool warp and wool weft. Barbara brought in a scarf that she had done at home combining 3 different short warps into one project!
