Fifth Tuesday Tradition!
Years ago, our dear friend LouAnn came up with an idea for spacing out our Potluck lunches. She simply pointed out that the months that have 5 Tuesdays are spaced evenly throughout the year. Ever since then we have continued this tradition, and each time we do I think about LouAnn and how much she influenced our group. She was the one who came up with our various challenges, she worked together with the rest of us to get the booth set up at the Fall show and for years she was the main poster of this blog. We lost LouAnn 3 years ago this month, and those of us who knew and loved her miss her very much. This being a fifth Tuesday, I got a chance to take close up pictures of all the yummy things on the kitchen island before lunch.
Before lunch I managed to capture a couple of pictures of pretty warps and wefts to show you. The colorful one is what Cathy is working on and the Liz is working on the second warp.
Just before lunch a couple of the girls (you know who you are!) let me know that Mark had a tangle in the warp he was winding!!!
After lunch Samantha pitched in to help him get the tangle cleared.
After lunch it was time for Show and Tell! Peggy came by to show us what she has been working on. One was a set of open weave structure wall hangings and the other was a bunch (lots!) of placemats woven with a design Peggy found in Weft Magazine.
Alice has finished several pairs of shoe laces and brought them in for us to admire, and Betsy showed us a vase that her Husband did for her on his 3D printer! I think he may have started something!
Linda wove 6 hand towels with cats in them! Meow!
As part of this years "What are you waiting for" Challenge, I have finally begun to work through my tubs of Nigora fleece. I dehaired 1 fleece using special combs and then I blended that fleece with Tussah silk which is almost the same color as this Nigora fleece. I spun a fine lace weight yarn with this blend and am knitting a small scarf with the resulting yarn. I wanted a yarn with a bit of halo and while so far it isn't as much as I had hoped it would be it may improve after it is washed and blocked.
Mark brought in his latest placemats with a hint of Chartruese! Zing!
Well friends, that is all I have for you this week, who knows what we will get into next week! Until then this is Tina, for all!
