Mostly Show and Tell
We were a quiet bunch today in the Studio. One warp was cut off of a loom, there was some loom adjusting and also some fringe twisting, and of course Show and Tell! Let's start with the project that Jenny cut off of the Leclerc this afternoon.
Next up I was helping Betsy adjust the Barn frame loom to get a better shed, and I thought I would escape a picture by having my phone in my pocket! I didn't count on Jenny snapping a photo of me,at least it wasn't of me getting under there! You can see that the lamms were quite uneven and once I got the knot undone and tightend it up enough to get it even Betsy got a better shed.
Pearl was working on fringes today, and checking for errors.
Alice is getting a new warp on her inkle loom and she has brought in a copy of the book I recently shared as a donation to the weavers library!
Nikki is making good progress on her run of Table Toppers.
Now it is time for Show and Tell! Kris made some ice dyed napkins last Dye day but didn't expect that the thread that was used while serging the napkins would not take up the dye. We assured her that we thought it looked good!
Irene has made a krokbrag bag with violins woven in! She used a new interfacing that made the bag very sturdy.
Betsy brought in her run of Table Toppers all hemmed and pressed. What we don't need for the Fall fund raiser can go to our Fall show in Knoxville.
To end the day, I brought in the 3rd handspun hand knitted vest that I have knitted this year, this time there is 20% Nigora fiber in the yarn from my own goats. I had also brought in a spinning project that I had finished some time ago, and even shared at show and tell before, but I have finally picked the pattern (Sandstone Peak) that I will be knitting with the yarn once it is dyed. I kind of like this blue color.
We will be back next week with more things to share, I hope you join us! Let me know if you have anything you would like to know about our group of weavers! Until next week this is Tina, for all!
