Quiet Day in the Studio

It was a quiet day in the Studio this week. Betsy was here for a little while to wind a warp for her new towel project, Karin set to work right away making lables for the new 8/2 yarn that came in this week, and JP took the placemats off of his loom. Rhonda will be taking over the from JP to do the next round of Placemats.
Show and Tell is back on the menu today! Roxy finished the warp that was on her Dorothy loom when she bought it! (more on that in a minute!) She also got the conversion kit from The Barn Studio and actually made the conversion! (I think I will bring my loom and conversion kit to the Center soon and we can install the conversion kit all together.) Barbara brought in a shawl that she had made from "popcorn" yarn that she had dyed plus some give aways from the Center, she also added a bit of sparkle, perfect for this time of year!
Rhonda sent some of the fiber from her Alpaca to be made into weft for rugs, she also played the model for one of Patty's new creations. Mark wove some placemats using thick and thin yarns for weft.
Puzzle to solve: The threading for the fabric that was on Roxy's loom didn't get recorded. Since Carol wasn't with us today to consult and I am not the best at drafting from fabric, I plan to pull out my ipad and Iweave-it program after Christmas and see if I can work it out. It is a variation of a huck pattern that I found in the green book. I have the treadling so that is a start.
We will not be in the Studio next week, so I wish you a Merry Christmas a little early! Until New Years Eve, this is Tina, for all!
