The Wheel Rescue!

The call went out on Ravelry a couple of days ago for someone to rescue a wheel in Chattanooga!  It is a Canadian Production Wheel type and for only $40.  I don't live very far from Chattaboogie, oops I mean Chattanooga, so I volunteered to do the rescue.  Lou Ann volunteered to come with for safety.

It seems that the seller is selling for someone else, so I got no information whatsoever about the wheel.  The seller works at night so he was going to set his alarm so that he could meet us at the door.  Then I got a text that said that if he didn't meet us at the door to knock on the middle window to wake him up. At that point I countered with, why don't you leave the wheel out on the porch, that way we could come earlier, and he could sleep!  We talked by phone afterwards, and that was the plan we agreed upon.

We found the residence with no problem at all, and found the wheel on the back porch as promised.  I slid the envelope under the door as promised and we picked the wheel up and took it to the car.

I tried to take the drive wheel off to get it in the car and I found that someone had nailed it on!  Luckily, I had brought a screwdriver that did the job of prying that nail off just enough to get the wheel off.

We pack up and took off for a quick lunch at our favorite Steak and Shake in Cleveland.  We consulted our watches after lunch and decided that we didn't have time to go to R & M Yarns, which is something we normally do when we are in the neighborhood.

The reason we didn't have time to do that is because we had a date way back in Norris!  We were going to meet  Hilary from Crazy as A Loom!  She is the author of one of our favorite blogs.
She has always been such an encouragement to us all, and it was a real pleasure to meet her and hear her tales of her current travels.

All to soon we had to break it up and head for the house.  I was exhausted and I am sure that Lou Ann was too!  I made it home just in time for Dear One to hop in the car and take off for Knoxville, it is a good thing I had just filled the tank with gas!

Once I sent him off, it was time to get the wheel inside and check her out.  There are some issues we will have to deal with, but for $40, I feel like I got a good deal!

Until next time, Happy Weaving and Spinning, Tina
