Drive By Visit!

Carol stopped by today for a few minutes. She made the rounds of the room as usual, checking in with everyone as she went. It was so good to catch up!
Kris is getting her napkin project beamed today and Karin gave her a hand.
Marilyn has finally worked out how to weave a pick up band on a floor loom! Mark is getting ready to put a new bowl cozy warp on the Leclerc Mira.
Elizabeth has tied on her first warp and has begun a plainweave hem, the rest of the lesson will be using various twills. Karin brought in some finished fabric for an upcoming event, there are a total of 15 table center pieces! Now to check for mistakes before hemming and washing! Someone brought in an old newspaper clipping (I think it was Kathy!) of Pat! I made her hold it while I took her picture!
Show and Tell time! Patty brought in a shawl as an "Unfinished Business Challenge" project. This one was woven on a rigid heddle loom. She also made a series of handtowels on commission thinking that 2 would go to the client. When she sent pictures for the client to choose from she decided she wanted 4!
Alice showed us a lanyard she has made out of teeny tiny thread!
Mark brought in the placemats he had taken off of the Leclerc Mira last week.
That is all until next week! Until then this is Tina, for all!

New Warps, New Fabric and a Finished "Unfinished Business" Project!

It was a relatively quiet day in the Studio today. We have lots of new warps getting ready to become fabric! Mark is winding a warp for bowl cozies and Susan is already threading the Napkin warp she beamed onto the warp beam last week.
Kris has finished the second half of her Napkin warp today and Marilyn is threading her "Inkle" band and was already threading by lunchtime! (Marilyn looks like she is ready to exit stage left!)
Shannon was almost ready to start weaving when we found a couple of issues we will deal with next week! Marie was looking for the right color of sewing thread so that we could fix something and the spools were all in a tangle!
Now for some new fabric! JP is weaving some scarves with an 8 harness pinwheel pattern and Irene is working on her next colorful bag!
Now for some "Show and Tell"! Shannon has something for the "Unfinished Business" Challenge! 3 years ago she began a rug for her husbands Desk/table in the basement. There have been many learning experiences along the way but this week she finally finished it!!!! It is so squishy! Yay, Shannon!!!!
That is all I have for you today friends, until next week this is Tina, for all!

Letting the Looms Out and Conversations

Every Tuesday morning, the looms have to be pulled out of the corral and placed in the open spaces by the door. Marilyn was busy pulling them out and placeing them where they go, she also put the benches in place so that by the time the other weavers started showing up everything was in order.
Lots of conversations in progress this morning! Pearl and Phyllis, Judith Phyllis and Mark, Shannon and Marilyn start us off.
Shannon and Laura, and Shannon and JP were also talking it over.
There was some weaving stuff happening as well! Shannon is putting on a warp that was left over from a different project. Kris was winding a new warp and Karin was once again working on the Library catalouge.
Susan is putting on a new warp and Marilyn is winding a new warp!
Mark has come to the end of his 40 yard warp! He had kept a tally of how many placemats he had woven and came up with 83 placemats!
Time for Show and Tell! Irene brought in 5 handbags!
Pearl is working on a second sock, Alice has finished another inkle band and Susan has hemmed and washed her peacock placemats.
Rhonda brought in 2 scarves she made from some yarn she bought a couple of months ago and I brought in an inkle band project idea.
That is it for today! I will have more for you next week, until then this is Tina, for all!
