Changing Colors!

I did a couple of sample Throws to see how much shrinkage I would get from this new width.  I think that  the few inches I gained will not be wide enough for the couch throws, so I am going to weave off the rest of this warp for Baby Blankets and then when I put on the next longer warp, I will be adding  enough ends to keep the 12 epi for the full 40 inches, I am sure that will not shrink quite as much in the washer.  I will be able to increase to 42 inches when I have a longer reed.

One of the things I really like about Overshot, is that you can change the pattern color, and basically change the look of the whole thing.   I went from sugar and spice and everything nice, straight to......

.......slugs and snails and puppy dog tails, just by changing the color!    I have pulled out all the pinks and the blues and greens and piled them on the table.  I am going to do as many colors as I can on this warp, so that when am at Black Berry Farm this November to demonstrate spinning, I will have a variety of Baby Blankets to choose from.  I didn't sell anything last year, though there was some interest in my Handspun Shetland, and I hope to do a little better this year.

Here are all the colors I pulled, hmmmm.  Looking at this, I think I may need to add some yellow too!

Well that is what I am up to today,  I hope to finish the blue one and do at least one more before I call it a day.  I am slower than I would like, and I don't have the time I would like to have, but slow and steady wins the race now, doesn't it.

Until next time, Happy Weaving, Tina

Sweet baby blankets! Good luck selling them because they would look lovely wrapped around a baby. Yes, I agree, you need some yellow... and how about lavender? :)

I love that pink, of course! I have two co-workers with babies due in February, and you've given me ideas.
