two new knees!

Hello everyone! I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!

I thought I would let you know where I am these days. I had  bilateral knee replacement last Monday and on Thursday I was moved to a rehab center. Not just any rehab center but a really nice one. Want to take a look at it? http://nhcfarragut.com/   Isn't it lovely? The meals here are fantastic and  the dining room has the feeling of a very nice restaurant. The meals are served by waitresses and waiters dressed in black shirts and black skirts or pants. The service is wonderful! All the tables have table cloths on them and very nice china, glassware and silverware is used. We even get a hot towel to wipe our hands with! Cool, huh? I can have quests join me for meals and they are very inexpensive considering what you can have. The dinners are ten dollars!! Amazing.

All the employees are terrific! They are so helpful all I have to do is press a button and someone is here to help me day or night.

The landscaping here is absolutely amazing. In the evenings my family has been taking me outside for a "walk" in my wheel chair. There is a koi pond with lily pads in it. There is even a putting green out there! A gazebo, arbors and beautiful flowers make me forget that I am in a rehab center.

There are activities in the afternoons in the common area. So far they have had folks making a beaded bracelet, a movie, finger nails polished, snowcones and popcorn. I am looking forward to seeing what they come up for entertainment this week. I really wanted to make a beaded bracelet but PT got in the way. When I was finished there I just wanted to crash in my room.

PT, aka known as pain and torture is done Monday through Friday but the new folks, like me, got some yesterday. Therapy includes occupational therapy as well as physical therapy.

Well, there you have it. I don't know how long I will be here but I just wanted to let you all know that I am doing pretty well.

My wonderful husband brought me my inkle loom last night! It caused quite a stir as he carried it into my room. One nurse followed him in here to find out what it was. She thought it was cool. One thing is......he forgot the shuttle. He will bring it today.

HELLO, LINDA!!! You sound pretty chipper! It sounds as though you could teach a few activities! Maybe you could get everyone hooked on inkle weaving!
