Wally's World

Hello fellow weavers! My Mom, Tina, brings me along on Tuesdays to weave, and I thought you might like to see what REALLY goes on around here! You might notice that I'm NOT wearing that silly plastic thing...I'm all better now! Mr. Carl and Ms. Joyce were hard at work on their looms. I think I heard Ms. Joyce say something under her breath about hemstitching, though. (Mom told me not to say those words!) Mom is taking those wiry things off the harness...she says that there are too many on there and it makes it heavy. I wear a harness sometimes.....

Ms. Marta was hard at work at her loom, too. But, sometimes you gotta take a break. Isn't that right, Ms. Ila??? A cup of coffee just hits the spot! Ms. Carol is cutting more fabric strips for rugs. There is some nice fabric in that pile, and it would be a cozy place to pile up and take a nap. Now, Mom is ready to weave...and I have to find my happy place.

Oh, there's Ms. Maggie. She's changing the weft on her shuttle...but I really like the blue. Is Ms. Maggie nodding off?????? That might be a good idea. I'll just close my eyes for a little bit.....

Yeah! Time for lunch!!! Hey Maggie, share!!!! Oh, right.....I have my own bowl.

Ah, yes, petting is good....yes.....right behind the ear......ummmmmm. Ms. Bonnie is hard at work, and Mr. Allan is working, too. Yep, we're all about work around here!

Oh boy! Mr. Lanny is here, and he brought someone new for me to sniff....I mean meet! Marjorie Warren is in town to weave at the KMA, and she came to the Center to visit! She brought some of her beautiful woven items for us to see and feel. Yummmmmm! That scarf would look really good on me! Ah, Mom! You know it would..............

Happy Weaving,
Wally

I cant wait for the weavers to see this one. Good job Lou Ann, I mean Wally.
I can just see Marjories face if Wally got hold of her $400.00 sash!

What would we do without Wally? It's so fun to watch him come bounding in wanting to say hi to everyone!
What a treat to have Marjorie come and show us her scarves. So, does this mean we need to add tartans to our list or design one for our family if we don't have one yet? That list just keeps getting longer!

I am so glad I got to join you all for lunch! It was good to see everyone again.

I added a photo to yesterday's blog entry. They are wondering where their treat is!

Oh my Wally, good job! I wonder how many looms there are stuffed into that space. Can you count?
Looks like a wonderful Tuesday.

Theresa, I believe we have 12 or 13 in that room. We have another 3 or 4 farmed out to the members, to be lovingly used at home until we can build on here at the center.

Don't forget the shelves of table looms that our students use....
