Snow Day!

It was a cold, grey, snowy day.  Every time I looked outside, it was grey and ugly and uninviting.  I finally did get out and walk Bella, who preferred walking in the snow to walking on the sidewalks, but I was back in soon, because it started snowing.  Again.
I like snow occasionally.  It will all be gone by tomorrow afternoon, and it's really no big deal, but the grey is starting to get to me.  Even the cute daffodils blooming their hearts out in my front yard, and the lovely Lenten Roses right on time in the middle of Lent couldn't cheer me up today.
But this warp did!  It's the Blooming Leaf border from Lee's Surrender.  Since I haven't been able to work on it at the Center, I made another one at home, just the border.  It's black chenille in the warp and tabby, with hand-dyed cotton in the pattern weft.  I've already woven 20 inches in just the past hour, because it's so beautiful, and I love the way overshot just flies by.  Can you see the pattern in between the leaves underneath?  I didn't get a good photo of it, but it's just as striking a design as the leaf.
I have a lovely blue-green-chartreuse dyed cotton to go in the next scarf.  They'll be 12 inches wide by 72 inches long, plus fringe.  I think they'll be soft and drapey and warm.  Plus, beautiful!
No progress on the tapestry yet, as I'm too confused to continue right now.  I think I need to devote a day to just figuring it out.  I wish Tommye Scanlin made house calls!
Stay out of the cold tonight and have some cocoa so tomorrow, you can be Happy, Weaving!

Hey!  I did take a photo of the joining pattern!  Here it is!  Neat, huh?

Our snow here on the Ridge vanished by mid-day! There's a little left in the sheltered areas. I love the blooming leaf motif in overshot...it sure does make a great scarf! Perfect activity for such a gray day.

Very pretty! Our snow fizzled out too, but not before we had 6 inches and then it melted down to 2....;)
