It didn't take him too long to finish off the warp that was remaining, and he cut off the rugs! Ten rugs were wound up on that cloth beam.
Most of them were blue jean rugs...and they are wonderful! They are such great sellers upstairs in the shop.
But, most of all, we were just so happy to have Carl back with us at the Center.
And, speaking of rugs.....Tina brought her Hollywood rug to share with us today. She wove this using T-shirt strips for the weft.
Allan also cut his rug off the loom today. He's getting ready to go on a trip, so one of our new weavers can weave on that loom for awhile.
Linda brings her scarf warp to the Center to weave on Tuesdays. That's one way to weave with a great group of people.
Ann had her work cut out for her. All of these rugs have hems....and they needed to be serged before she turned them under.
That's a big roll of rugs!
The weavers solved Pat's problem on the bench....they brought her a big ole cushion to sit on while she weaves. As most weavers know, those benches can get rather hard after awhile!!!!
And, a big THANK YOU to Pat for helping me with the heddles on Big Bertha!!!! Those extra heddles would have shredded the edges if we had left them on this wide warp.
Lunch time gave the weavers a change to get an update on Dye Day, and schedule another day to finish up more projects.
(Teresa did not wear her new piece of jewelry today.....we'll get a close up picture next week.)
There's always a lot to discuss when we get together!
We are also sending out good vibes for LaDonna and Andy. They have submitted work to be juried for the Foothills Arts and Craft Guild.
Bonnie is threading her new warp, and Andy is getting to the end of her huge tangle.
Another great day in the Studio!!!!
