MY NEW LOOM

Guess what I purchased on Friday. Yes, a new used loom. The man that showed it to us really had no clue about it. He said it is his wife's and she was not there to answer questions. He thought it was custom made?? It has Sanjo on the side. If you look at the far end you will see Emma. She is very unhappy. I had to move her recliner chair out to make room.
I looked them up and the only thing that I found were a few looms (not like this one) and a huge tapestary loom. So you decide. I like it right now. It is soooooooooo heavy. It is eight harness and 12 treadles.  57" weaving width. I have found only 2 things wrong with it so far. The headles are not in a metal frame. It has a metal bar that slides int a slot in the wood harness. It is missing 2 top metal bars- not a biggie.

Then I just noticed that the rachet dog leg thingie is missing. The ratchet is there but the handle to advance is not. I don't think that is a big thing either. I hope?
I almost forgot. It has 2 warp beams in the back and a real neat break and built in handles. Also a raddle that attaches to the front beam or should it be the back. I have it on the front right now.  Now to clean her up.
Pardon the mess. I just got things arranged and now no room again.

Until next time.

I don't know her name yet. I am not sure of the lady's name that owned it. I know her husband's name. I will have to ask Linda if she knows. She went with me.

Sondra will be her name.

Oh very handsome! I'm assuming you can put the raddle on the back if you warp back to front and on the front beam when warping front to back.
You might ant to check out LeClerc for ratchet parts, I swear they have every little bit and bob for so many things!

Thanks Theresa. I will check. That is what I thought about the raddle. Yes, I can swith the beams and put the raddle on the back.

Nice addition to your fleet, Bonnie! My warping experience is more limited than most of you, but I never used a raddle warping front to back. ~Marta

I know this is an old post, but maybe someone will see this. I am trying to sell a Sanjo Loom and can't seem to find much on them. I don't know anything about Looms. I want to post it on craigslist, but would like to learn a littl bit about it before posting. I'm helping an elderly family member sell this. She has set a price on it, but I don't know if she has a reasonable price on it or not. Does anyone know where I can get some information on value? Or anything else I would need to know?
