Last fall I painted 2 scarf warps and later made some skeins for weft and painted them as well. These warps are bamboo. One warp is 4/2 and the other 6/2. I made 3 scarves on each warp. Just plain weave but watching the interplay of the colors is beyond awesome.
I am pretty serious about keeping records of everything that I do when I weave. However, not with these warps!! It was just, what colors can I put together and let's see how they do!!
The joy of just playing and mixing colors is nice! I have no idea what I did. The next time I do this, I should really take some notes!!

Don't tell anyone, but my nieces are going to each get one this summer for their Christmas gift. I hope they like the colors. If I have time, I'll weave more but the time is getting shorter before I head north to Canada!!
If there are any left after that I'll sell them!
On the looms right now: 2 looms are still empty. Warp is wound for one and planned for the other but I haven't had time to put them on. On my Nilus is this stripe. I know it looks a bit weird but I like it. I have been fascinated with the thought of weaving brown and black together. These will be vests, tops and jackets. Just picture them with small squares on point at the bottom of each stripe that I'll applique on yet. I normally have solid scraps of each color that I serge with black as well and then sew on for the accent. I've done this in a different color combination but this is the first time to do these colors. I might keep one of the vests.....
My Thelma has that long placemat warp on it. I've had time to weave a few placemats but on my list this week is to finish 8 of them so I can cut them off. Wedding gifts! They are weaving nicely.
Thelma is a sectional and she actually came with an additional warp beam that I haven't added yet to her. However, I am vacillating, Tina! You may have me started thinking about putting the next warp on using the sectional apparatus! I don't have a stand to hold the spools. She came with it but I didn't keep it. I'm sure I can borrow one from one of the other Tuesday weavers! Tina is scheduled to put a warp on our sectional loom at the center tomorrow. I shall be watching....
It's been in the 90s here lately but DH has been sealing the decks at odd times when it is a bit cooler. If it cools off tonight he can finish the large one and we can start moving things out of the greenhouse! The poor plants are so anxious to get out!
In about half an hour DD and I will go down to a track to walk awhile before it gets too hot.
So, talking to my Mom yesterday, she was telling me how my niece was driving on Saturday about an hour distance from their place. For about 45 minutes they were going through snow. So much, in fact, that it was messing with the roads a bit! Mom wanted about half our heat! She is ready for much warmer weather altho they have planted all their plants outside and the lilacs are blooming!! I think that lilacs have to be almost my favorite flower. Maybe it's because I don't see them often. Ours bloomed about a month ago and we only had a few small flowers...
Back to weaving now until time to head out for awhile. I want to get my Nilus empty today so I can get an order on her....

I'll be bringing my thread "tree" tomorrow so we can warp that loom. I think you might get hooked! We have a lot of equipment between us that we can share when we need to....plus it's a lot of fun to work together!
What beautiful colors! You are going to love sectional weaving! So much quicker.
Love the color progression on that warp! Those scarves look almost like plaid don't they. I think once you get the hang of it you will like the sectional. It can be a little intimidating, but it really is quite straight forward plus no cross to worry about!
The scraves turned out beautiful. I love the colors in the material for the tops. I am glad you are going to try sectional warping. Then, if you don't like it you can go back to the original way.
I love those scarves! Makes me want to dye stuff!
