I consented to what?

Here is a photo of my loom room, the front bedroom of my small-but-adequate-for-one-person-with-a-lot-of-stuff house. Do you see room for an AVL in there? I must confess that the Harrisville on the left and the table loom closest to the camera have moved out with Mom, but the photo doesn't show the 7 foot tall Navajo style-loom on the left, or the 36 inch Nilus Artisat behind the table loom. And you might notice the 4 shafts I removed from the Colonial, leaning against the wall, because the 8 shafts are too much for me to deal with right now.
I have the foolish hope that one of these days, my job will settle down and I will no longer need to work 12 hours a day to get done, enabling me to weave more, be less tired and able to scale large looms in a single bound. Besides, who gets an AVL for free? The back bedroom will be re-arranged, then. My guests will have to set up the aero bed in the living room, the desk will move over, I'll lose my sewing area, but I will welcome the AVL into my house and one day, learn how to use it! Wish me courage!

p.s. LouAnn, Leo is in the window!

Maggie, you'll do great! You're just continuing to learn what it is to be a weaver......looms take up alot of room but the challenges of figuring out new weaves and color combinations are the most satisfying part! I'm just so glad we have a network of weavers that share knowledge and aren't afraid to challenge themselves!
BTW, my parents once lived in a tiny house and the way it was configured, my Mom had her sewing machine set up in the bathroom.....

There's barely room in my bathroom for a bath! Thanks for the encouraging words!

Maggie, the great part is that you can do this as you feel like it. That's the reason I like looms in different parts of the house. It will sit there and wait for you, and you'll work as you feel like it, or close the door and say, "not today." You'll be our weaver who figures out the secret to that loom, and do FANTASTIC weaves on her/him. What ARE you going to name it????

p.s....love seeing Leo!

I sent Carol a reply to her email, when she told me the first owner was named Lavonne, that I liked it for a name. Don't you? It's strong and sturdy, but somewhat feminine.

I like the name Lavonne. I know you will enjoy finding out about how she works. As Lou Ann says, Lavonne will wait for you to be ready.
