On Top of the Barn Loom!
As you all will know we recently lost our long time teacher and friend Carol Pritcher. We have been talking about wearing some of Carols creations to the Celebration of Life. Several weavers then mentioned that they would be willing to share since they have several tops that Carol had made over the years. Carol's husband brought in the last of Carol's inventory for the TW to have first chance at purchasing before the remaining items would go to the show this fall. I think all tops but two were bought by Carol's students/friends here at the Tuesday Weavers. I was trying to get a good picture of all the trying on that was happening and just couldn't get a good angle so I climbed up into the Barn Loom and got some good ones, then I saw Dana taking a picture of me, so I took a picture of her taking a picture of me!

Now to the weavers and their projects! Judith is getting ready to weave another rug on the Studio loom. We worked out a way she could wind a hank of yarn onto a ball winder without any help!
Liz V was really close to finishing her warp before lunch so that after lunch we knew that she would probably cut this project off before she left for the day.
Jenny too cut her fabric off the loom today!
Time for Show and Tell! Charlotte starts us off with a scarf made out of sock yarn! Then Alice has a finished Baltic Inkle project ready for the finishing touches.
Dana finished a crochet blanket recently, it is an allover pineapple motif! Cathy made us some color cards on the last Dye Day we had. There are a few Cathy wants to re-do, now we know what the colors we have in stock will look like on yarn!
Shannon is continuing to make small notebook covers using her handwoven fabric and leather plus regular fabric from her stash.
Patty has brought in her latest run of kitchen towels. This time she used 8/4 cotton and her warp is light and dark colors with various colors in the weft! Patty also brought in a log cabin scarf she recenty wove it was not her favorite project even though the results are beautiful!
We have some upcoming weaving classes that are slightly different than our usual Tuesday classes. Starting in January Patty and Marie will be teaching a Saturday class from 10am-2pm for 4 weeks, in 4 shaft weaving on our table looms, limit 4 students. There may also be an inkle weaving class around that same time, stay tuned for more information!
Until next week this is Tina, for all!
