In Celebration and Show and Tell

It is the 5th Tuesday of the month, for the Tuesday Weavers that means Pot Luck!!! Since we just lost our fearless leader Carol last week, we took the opportunity after lunch to share our favorite memories of her starting from the weavers who had known her the longest.

We spent several tearful moments today and gave hugs all around. I had found last week one of Carol's handwoven vest on EBay at a really good price. I thought it might have been felted since it was wool and quite fuzzy in the picture but I figured that if it was we could do something with the fabric! Turns out it fits me perfectly! I brought it today so that anybody who needed a hug from Carol could have one!

Some weaving did get done today, but we will skip straight to Show and Tell instead. Patty brought in 2 skeins that she had dyed during a recent Dye Day, and Ronda found some fabric at a local thrift store that just might be handwoven!

Dana brought in her recent run of towels all woven on the same warp!

Susan S is back from her travels in Africa, and she brought us some examples of fabric that she found in the markets and a blanket that was being woven in the market using a loom with a flying shuttle!

Shannon is working with her handwoven and with leather recently. This week she is working on a custom order of book covers and learning a lot along the way.

It was a sad day here for the Tuesday Weavers, but we celebrated the community that Carol worked so hard to build and we have every intention to keep going in the same manner. Join us next week as we start a new chapter of the Tuesday Weavers. Until then this is Tina, for all!
