Two New Students and Two Visitors
Carol visited with us today for just over an hour. She has hair, eyelashes and eyebrows, though she is still quite tired. We were thrilled to see her! Below you can see her catching up with a few weavers. Carol with Laura and Rhonda!
Carol with Phyllis
Carol with April our other visitor from far away!
We have two brand new students and I caught them winding their first warps. The first one is Angie winding a grey warp.
The second new student is Colleen, and she has put a couple of stripes in her first warp!
Patty is chatting with April who is travelling in the area with her Husband. She had read about our group in one of the Handwoven magazines in recent years. She showed the article to her Husband and he thought it would be great fun to come pay us a visit!
Jenny was winding a new project today and the project changed mid winding from a warp for two runners to a warp for one runner and as many napkins as possible! This project will be in the Dogwood lace pattern from the Strickler 8 shaft book.
Patty and Laura are discussing the tops they have been making with the hand dyed fabric that we have woven over the last year.
As part of Show and Tell, here is one of the tops with Patty striking a pose!
Continuing on we have Dana and her fantastic towels some of them still need to be hemmed, but it has been a busy week with family.
A closeup of Dana's towels.
Linda finished a project at home!
Closeup of Laura's towels (or is it placemats!)
Patty finished a set of towels, each one different from the same warp.
Here is a closeup of Patty's towels.
Rhonda's husband made her this sweet Inkle loom and he is looking into make a floor model with treadles!!!
Last week I brought in my skeins of handspun Finn for Show and Tell and I said that I wanted to dye them blue.
The packets of tincture dye arrived this week and I brought them in to show everyone and I fully intended to dye the skeins tomorrow.
However.......I couldn't wait! There is some variation of colors in the skeins but I am okay with that!
That is all I have for you today. We are getting ready for our Fall show and next week it will be very busy in the Studio. Come back and see what we get into! Until then this is Tina, for all!
