Celebrate!

We had reason to celebrate on Tuesday this week! Our dear Karin has retired from her day job! I have talked to her since Tuesday and she has been enjoying her first week of freedom!
Patty was busy all morning rinsing hand dyed warps and skeins from Dye Day. Having the spin dryer really helps!
I caught several people doing weaving related things this morning. Laura was checking her towels for errors, Erin, one of the students has moved up to the direct tie wolf pup and Pat was busy at the Barn Frame Loom, oh, and Rhonda cut her first project off of the loom!!!!! Last week Carol wound a warp that she wanted me to weave off so that she can make something with it for the show. I needed to get it woven this week, because I will be out next week. I wasn't sure that the brown weft Carol chose would look good, but as usual she was right!
Time for Show and Tell! Some of these pictures were taken earlier in the morning while some were taken during our lunch time Show and Tell. Irene has been weaving some boundweave fabrics and making them into really nice bags. Jenny brought in a shawl she took off of her loom and also some skeins that she had dyed during last weeks Dye Day. Patty also brought in skein after skein that she had dyed, (they just kept coming out of the bag!) and Carol wore a T-shirt that she had tie-dyed last week!
That is it for this week, until next time, this is Tina, for all!

Congratulations to Karin. Such a relief to leave the working world behind.

Lovely photos as usual. The boundweave bags are especially nice. great idea for Christmas gifts.

Colors, colors, colors! And I had never seen a spin dryer detached from an old-fashioned washing machine. Live and learn, and wonder if I "need" one.

And I second Leigh: Happy Retirement to Karin.
