Golden!
Karin and I were talking back and forth this week via text. I was telling her about my new spinning project where I was trying to recreate a 5ply sport wt yarn for a Gansey. She told me she was just reading about Ganseys this week! I told her I would bring in my spinning samples and all of the books I have collected. So far the breeds I have sampled are Polypay and Tunis. I have a couple more to sample before I make my decision.
Speaking of Karin, She is almost done entering all of our Library books to our online library so that our weavers will be able to check and see if we have a book to borrow!
There was a stack of items ready to sell on the table. Marie gets to enter them into the book, tag them and request inventory stickers for next week.
Susan #3 is making rugs from the Tshirts she cut out a couple of weeks ago!
It may because it has been cold this week but the golden color of Joycelynn's warp caught my eye and I had to include it in today's blog!
Jenny was in the process of threading these heddles earlier in the morning, but I suspect by the end of the day she was ready to sley the reed.
Guess what! It is time for Show and Tell! Jenny starts us off with a vest she recently finished! It is Alpaca and wool in their natural color and Jenny used an Italian bind off!
Rhonda dyed the roving to spin this skein of yarn and she chain plied it to maximise the colors!
Last year sometime Dana brought her son to one of the Dye Days and he had so much fun dyeing a warp in peacock colors! This year Dana sampled some weaving patterns while she was weaving some towels and chose one for that very special warp. She wove 2 shawls and a cowl and they are stunning!!!!
Well friends that is it for today, come back and see what we get into next week! Until then this is Tina, for all!

New Warps on the Looms and a Visitor!
Over the last few weeks we have had several projects come off of the looms. Well you must know that means new warps going onto the looms. Our students Angie and Colleen are at it again with new colors to work with.
Susan #3 is already sleying the reed on her new project!
Shannon is getting ready to put this lovely warp on her loom! (I didn't get a pic of Shannon!)
Jenny is threading her project that has every other thread going to shaft 1!
We also have 2 tiny looms to share! Samantha brought her tiny inkle and Sally is on a pin loom!
We had a visitor in red today, no not Santa, but Carol came in just before lunch! We were so glad to see her and we had her to ourselves for a whole hour and a half!
It is already time for Show and Tell! Rhonda finished a mixed fiber scarf this week!
Patty brought in some lovely linen spa cloths she has made to sell with one of her friends handmade soap. Here she is serging the edges, getting ready to sew them up! (We had a french seam tutorial with Shannon!)
Dana showed off a sweater she had finished last spring when it was too hot to show it off. I think she said it was the Carbeth pattern from Kate Davies. Bulky yarn and interesting construction sure makes an impact!
That is all I have for you today, come back next week and see what is going on. Until then this is Tina, for all!

Two Heads are Better than One!
One of the reasons that draw us to the Center every week is the relationships we have formed over the years. Whether it is planning a new project, dressing the loom, serging the ends of cloth hot off of the loom or sharing what is going on in our lives, most of us have been together weekly for some time and it shows in these pictures. Linda and Rhonda, Patty Dana and Coleen, Cathy and Joycelyn and Dana and Coleen are all here to join in the fun.
Marie had to order some 8/2 cotton last week and of course we had to check it in and get it onto the shelves.
The morning flew by and it was soon time for Show and Tell! Patty showed off a Rice Bag that she had made and a series of small shawls that she has made from sock yarn scraps!
Betsy has made some curtains for a new bathroom sink cabinet in her house. She is waiting for her Husband to get the hardware so that she will know how long to make the curtains.
Rhonda has made a table runner for her Sister. She used Crochet cotton for the weft and it really looks and feels wonderful!
Both of our students have finished their first projects. Angie has made a table runner and Coleen has made some Place mats.
Before I sign off this week I took some pictures of the projects on the looms and I wanted to share them with you.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We will see you next week, until then this is Tina, for all!
