"Show and Tell" is a lot of Unfinished Business!

We can start with what is on the looms. Betsy is weaving a Hopsack Table mat and Liz is in the middle of threading a hand dyed project.
Marilyn is threading her new project. She is going to be weaving an Indian Pebble Weave sash, it took some figuring to settle on a way to thread the warp that made sense. Sally and Patty are deep in conversation about her new project.
"Show and Tell" is next and there are several finished projects that fall under the catagory of the "Unfinished Business Challenge. First we have Jenny that bought a loom that already had a warp on it. There were no notes about the warp but Jenny chose a pattern and finished weaving a scarf this week. She also has decided to take apart a sweater that she had almost completed. There was a lot that she didn't like about the pattern and she felt like the fabric was too open for the yarn. So that is 2 projects that were unfinished business, now finished (or undone) for the Challenge.
Betsy finished some bowl cozies this week and Linda wove some lovely towels with yarn that had been in her stash for years! (qualifying for the Challenge as well!)
Dana finished some towels in Huck lace using lots of colors and I finished re-knitting a sweater that I had first knit in 2022 with yarn that had been donated to the Center at least a decade ago! I had to go down a needle size and a pattern size to get the perfect fit. (Qualifying for the Challenge!)
Way back when Mark got his first loom he decided to put a bookmark warp on it. He wove one and decided that it was too thick for a bookmark. Recently, he finally wove the rest of the bookmarks and brought them in today. We told him that they would make great rugs for doll houses! Anyway, that project too qualifies for the "Unfinished Business Challenge"
I am so proud of our weavers, getting some stagnant projects out of the "work in progress" pile and making them ready to bless the world! That is all I have for you today, come back next week and see what we get into! Until then this is Tina, for all!

Finished Projects!

What a busy day it has been in the Studio! More than one finished warp and several that are in the process of getting on the looms, then of course there are the projects that are well on their way! First up we have a special project finished. That would be the scarves that JP has been working on!
So close to being done first thing this morning! Then early afternoon, right after lunch there was the great reveal!
Phyllis is with us today and she is weaving mug rugs for the Fall show! Shannon is making some 17inch Table Toppers for the Fall Fundraiser.
Liz is making progress on her baby blankets and Marilyn and Pearl are in deep conversations about how to get the heddles threaded on this project.
Linda and Laura are in the back corner. Linda will finish her warp today and Laura is continuing on the "lawn chair" hand towels.
Guess what? It is time once again for "Show and Tell"! Pearl finished a shawl and brought it in for us to see. The weft is alpaca and it makes for a very soft scarf. Pearl also brought in a project that she is going to undo for the "Unfinished Business Challenge"! I was so proud of her! Pearl found that the yarn she had didn't show the texture like she wanted it to. She will choose a new yarn for this pattern.
Rhonda wove a sample scarf at home and she has wound the real scarf warp today.
Last but not least I finished the second handspun vest this morning at 8:40, I finished weaving in the ends before lunch. These two vest are part of my "Unfinished Business Challenge" projects! That is all I have for you today, I am sure we will have more for you next Tuesday. Until then this is Tina, for all!

What's Going On in the Studio and Visitors

There was a lot going on in the Studio this morning! We even had visitors! Betsy, Debbie and Danny came to visit us all the way from Crossville, TN.
Mark is weaving fabric for bowl cozies and I was amazed at what a difference the weft color makes in this project. Behind Mark in this Photo is Judith, and she is weaving rugs on the Studio Loom.
Cathy brought in 8 hand towels that she has finished recently for the shop upstairs. Trouble is, now she only has 4 for the shop because 2 of her fellow weavers bought them outright before they even tags on them! Shirley and Pearl are tickled pink!
Alice continues to amaze us all on her Inkle loom, this time she is doing Baltic Pick up! Sally brought in her finished sample for us to enjoy.
Laura has been working behind the scenes on some of the handwoven fabrics we have woven over the last year. Oh, to have those sewing skills!
Hey! It is time for "Show and Tell"! Let's start with Irene, she has brought in a couple of bags she finished this week, using handwoven boundweave fabric. She is really enjoying her new heavy duty sewing machine!
I brought in a vest that I knit with my handspun. For years I had been wanting to use my handspun in a project that I would actually wear! I already have a second vest using my handspun on the needles. This project qualifies for the "Unfinished Business Challenge" that wraps up on the 5th Tuesday in September. Mark brought in a tutorial he had run across using a crochet hook to embelish your weaving on the loom!
That is all I have for you today, we will be back at it next week! Until then this is Tina, for all!
